MODULE 1 - Technical Skills
Become comfortable with your grooming tools and master the art of scissoring, clipping and hand stripping. Canine profiling and the stages of a dog’s life cycle will be discussed to better understand your canine buddy.
MODULE 2 - Section Grooming
You will learn how to apply the basic cut to a dog by demonstrating how to do so section by section. This will also include other grooming tasks such as expressing anal glands, creating bevelled feet, teddy bear ears and styling pom poms to list a few.
MODULE 3 - Common Cuts
There are a few basic cuts that you can always turn to and that suites multiple breeds. We will teach you how to apply these trims, which tools to use and their benefits. Time management can make or break a grooming day. We will show you how to plan your grooming day, schedule appointments and how to allocate time towards specific grooms.
MODULE 4 - Dog Health
At PDGA safety and the health of our canine clients are our number 1 priority and as a future groomer, it should be yours too. We will take a look at how to handle canine and human emergencies which might just save a life. You will learn how to improve a dog’s bad behaviour and we will demonstrate basic obedience training.
Bonus Lesson - It's A Doggy-Dog World
Get ready to discover the colourful world of creative grooming. You will also be introduced to various dog sports to enjoy with your canine friend and learn about various job possibilities once qualified at the academy. Lastly, we will showcase various services that you can offer with your PDGA training. Now that is a bonus!

Hello ambitious groomers. Dog Grooming Assistant graduates this is the halfway mark in your grooming journey to reaching the highest level as a professional dog groomer. This course is formulated to teach you intermediate skills necessary to properly groom a dog section for section.
